Mediation

Family and Divorce Mediation

Mediation can be used to negotiate many family law issues including divorce, child support, and child visitation agreements. The advantage of utilizing mediation as opposed to other proceedings is that it is generally more time and cost efficient for the parties. Another positive aspect of mediation is that you are able retain control over the outcome of your dispute whereas in a Motion Hearing or Trial the Judge will ultimately make that determination.

Is Mediation For You?

As there are many advantages to the use of mediation to resolve contested issues, it is imperative to remember that there are also disadvantages to the mediation process. The most important disadvantage is that mediation services can sometimes prove unsuccessful in highly conflicted disputes. Still, people often want to try mediation in hopes of saving money. Be aware that if you have highly contested issues there is always the possibility that mediation will not work and you may end up wasting time and money.

We always advise our clients that mediation is a very useful tool for those who have certain types of legal matters. Our office has helped many people work through their issues in a pleasant, time worthy, and amicable manner. Our goal in every mediation session is to help achieve favorable outcomes for both parties.
